Ilana Symons

Ilana Symons is a second-year rabbinical student at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati. She currently serves as the student rabbi for Temple Beth Sholom in Marquette, MI and as a teaching fellow at Adath Israel Congregation in Cincinnati. Ilana grew up outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She studied philosophy, Hebrew and Judaic studies, and multifaith and spiritual leadership at New York University and received her BA in 2019. While in New York, she taught religious school at several synagogues and served various leadership positions at the Bronfman Center, NYU’s Hillel, including president of Kesher: Reform Jews at NYU. Ilana also interned at the Food Research and Action Center through the Machon Kaplan program and at the Religious Action Center as a Collegiate Leadership Internship Program (CLIP) intern. Ilana is a lover of the arts and enjoys spending time at the theatre or in a museum.
