Samantha Schapera grew up in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. She earned BAs in Judaic Studies and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality studies at the University of Cincinnati. After she graduated, Samantha worked as a nursing assistant at the Jewish nursing home of Cincinnati, Cedar Village. In 2014, she started her studies at HUC-JIR in Cincinnati, and she is now in her fifth year of the rabbinical program. Samantha has served as TJF Fellow at Temple Sholom, The Holocaust and Humanity Center, and Cedar Village. She has served as student rabbi at Temple B’nai Israel in Kokomo, Indiana and is currently serving her second year at United Hebrew Congregation in Joplin, Missouri.
